WOW Wednesday: Corechia Sanders
This weekās WOW Wednesday spotlight shines on Corechia Sanders, 7th and 8th Grade ELA Teacher at Utica Elementary Middle School, who has served Hinds County School District for four years.
Ms. Sanders brings F.L.E.X. to life by creating meaningful learning experiences that help students see literacy as more than reading a text and answering questions. Through technology, collaboration, discussion, creative projects, and authentic writing opportunities, she encourages students to use their voices, think critically, and connect what they learn to the world around them.
Her passion for education was inspired by her own high school English teacher, who helped her fall in love with writing and showed her the lasting impact a teacher can have. Today, Ms. Sanders strives to provide that same kind of influence for her students.
Building relationships is also at the heart of her classroom. She wants every student to feel seen, heard, supported, and respected while being challenged to reach their full potential. For Ms. Sanders, some of the most rewarding moments are seeing students master a difficult skill, discover confidence in their voice, or realize they are capable of more than they thought.
Her āwhyā for choosing Hinds County is rooted in serving students and making a meaningful difference in the community.
āI want my students to leave my classroom with stronger literacy skills, greater confidence, and the belief that they can accomplish their goals.ā
