Raydreonia Davis: Growing and Glowing in ELA at Utica Elementary–Middle School
Raydreonia Davis brings the district theme of Love, Hope, and Leadership to life through her work as a fifth grade English Language Arts teacher at Utica Elementary–Middle School. She leads with love by creating a classroom environment where students feel nurtured, supported, and encouraged to grow. Hope is reflected in her commitment to help every student move forward, regardless of their starting point, while leadership is evident in the integrity she models both inside and outside the classroom. Driven by a deep love for children and a desire to see them become confident and capable individuals, Raydreonia believes that education opens doors that can change the course of a child’s life. As an educator in a small-town community, she approaches her role with purpose and a passion for student success. She incorporates a student-centered literacy environment where choice, voice, and real-world connections guide learning. This approach strengthens reading and writing skills while building confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning. Don O’Harroll: Leading with Purpose at Mainstreet Restart Center
Don O’Harroll brings the district theme of Love, Hope, and Leadership to life through his work as an ELA teacher at Mainstreet Restart Center. He leads with love by providing students with the care, compassion, and structure they need to grow and achieve greatness. Hope is reflected in his commitment to helping students overcome challenges, while leadership is evident in how he guides them toward better decisions for their future. Inspired by his mother, who served as an educator for more than 35 years, Don carries forward a legacy of dedication and service. His students also serve as daily motivation, fueling his passion to make a difference in their lives. As a change agent within the district, Don supports students as they navigate obstacles and build a path forward. He understands that relationships are at the heart of student success and prioritizes building strong connections so students are open to learning and growth. With 15.5 years in education, Don remains committed to making a positive and meaningful impact on his students each day, helping them move forward with confidence and purpose.
LaTonya Randle: Leading with Love and Purpose at Gary Road Intermediate
LaTonya Randle brings the district theme of Love, Hope, and Leadership to life through her work at Gary Road Intermediate. She leads with love by advocating for her students, creating a classroom where they feel supported, valued, and empowered. She offers patience, grace, and understanding, especially on difficult days, ensuring her students know they have someone in their corner. Hope is reflected in the way she encourages students daily, reminding them they can do hard things and that their future is full of possibilities. Leadership is evident in how she models integrity, fairness, and perseverance, showing students how to take responsibility and treat others with kindness. Inspired by the joy her own sons experienced in elementary school, LaTonya was drawn to education through witnessing the impact teachers can have on a child’s life. As both a mother and educator, she sees her students as someone’s whole world and strives to be the teacher she wanted for her own children. Her goal each day is to create a classroom filled with encouragement, connection, and purpose. She incorporates active learning strategies that engage students through discussion, collaboration, and hands-on activities, leading to stronger understanding, retention, and motivation. LaTonya intentionally creates a structured and inclusive environment where students are seen, heard, and supported. She builds meaningful relationships, walks alongside her students through challenges, and speaks belief into them, especially on days when they struggle to believe in themselves. With 29 years in education, LaTonya remains committed to serving, leading, and making a lasting impact. She chose Hinds County School District because of its strong commitment to academic excellence and student development, and she continues to pour into her students so they can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
