Raymond, Miss. – Hinds County School District (HCSD) will launch of its first-ever Unity Bowl Week, a new district tradition designed to celebrate school pride, community spirit, and togetherness.
The weeklong celebration begins with the inaugural Unity Bowl Pep Rally on Sunday, September 21, at 5:00 p.m. on the Hinds Parkway in Byram. The rally will showcase performances from student drumlines, cheerleaders, and student leaders from both Raymond High School and Terry High School, setting the stage for a week of community-centered events.
Unity Bowl Week will conclude with the much-anticipated football game between the Raymond Rangers and the Terry Bulldogs on Friday, September 26, at 7:00 p.m. at Terry High School.
“The Unity Bowl is a celebration of unity, school pride, and community spirit,” said Dr. Mitchell Shears, HCSD Superintendent. “We are proud to launch this new tradition and bring our students, families, and community together in a way that highlights the best of Hinds County School District.”
In addition to the pep rally and the big game, HCSD schools will host a series of special events and service projects throughout the week. These activities will highlight the district’s commitment to community engagement and student leadership:
