Derick Hemphill is a highly qualified and dedicated educator with six years of experience, currently serving in the Hinds County School District. He is a proud graduate of Jackson State University and currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. As a teacher, Derick has served students in second, third, and fourth grades. As a Math Instructional Specialist, he provides crucial instructional support to administrators, teachers, and students across the district.
Brionna Knighten is an educator that is dedicated to fostering growth and understanding in all learners. She has been in the education field for 14 years and is currently the curriculum coordinator in Hinds County School District. She previously taught grade 7 and 8 mathematics at Powell Middle School and Algebra I and II at Raymond High School. She also taught Calculus 1 for 3 years at Jackson State University. With a strong background in analytical problem-solving and strategic thinking, Brionna enjoys designing effective educational strategies that empower lower-performing students to thrive. She seeks to combine a positive culture, creativity, and motivation to make a meaningful difference in educating students.
Jasmine Hughes is a native of Terry, Mississippi and a fourteen year veteran teacher. She has spent twelve years teaching at Utica Elementary Middle School in the Hinds County School District. She is currently a sixth grade math teacher. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s Degree, Jackson State University with a Masters Degree, and Mississippi College with an Education Specialist Degree. Jasmine is a passionate educator who focuses on transforming students’ mathematical understanding through creative and engaging lessons while also encouraging students to achieve their best.
