    Kimberly Davenport is a native of Louisville, Mississippi and an honor graduate of Louisville High School. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University and her Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Jackson State University, both with honors.

    Mrs. Davenport began her education career in the Hinds County School District in 1991. She was an elementary teacher at Gary Road Elementary School in Byram, Mississippi for 11 Years. Mrs. Davenport taught grades 1, 2, and 3 and received the Metro Jackson Outstanding Teacher Award in 1996 for her outstanding success as a classroom teacher. In 2002, she became the assistant principal at Gary Road Elementary and received the HCSD Assistant Principal of the Year Award in 2005. In 2008, Mrs. Davenport became the principal of Gary Road Intermediate School in Byram, where she established the motto, “Expect Excellence”, because she always expects the best from herself, her faculty, her students, and her parents. Mrs. Davenport is passionate about educating children and truly believes that all children deserve the right to a quality education and should be in a safe school environment that values and encourages them while promoting success!

    Mrs. Davenport is currently the principal at Main Street RESTART Center in Bolton, Mississippi which serves as the district's alternative school and houses grades 6-12. Mrs. Davenport has established the motto, “Soaring into Excellence,” and selected the bald eagle as the school's symbol because it represents courage, pride, strength, intelligence, and excellence. The students know that Mrs. Davenport expects the best from them each and everyday, believes in them, and wants them to succeed in life.

    Mrs. Davenport currently resides in Brandon, Mississippi with her husband, John, and their two daughters, Lauren and Lyndsey. Mrs. Davenport is an active member of Rock Star M. B. Church where she serves as the Youth Director, teaches Bible Study and Praise dance, sings in the choir, and tutors. Mrs. Davenport and her husband also serve as volunteer softball coaches in the City of Brandon Youth Softball League each summer.
