Mrs. Loren Bost
I am so excited for my first year at Raymond Elementary where I am teaching Fourth Grade ELA. This is my third year teaching and my second year teaching ELA exclusively.
A Little About Me
I grew up in Oxford, MS, and received a Bachelor's Degree in English double majored with Journalism from the University of Mississippi. After graduation, I left Oxford and moved to St. Petersburg, FL, where I received a second Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of South Florida. In the spring of 2015 my husband accepted a job in Jackson, MS, which brought us back to our home state.
Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. - Joseph Addison
Like any other muscle, the brain needs to work out! When I was little my mother either read to me or had me read to her every day. This instilled in me a love of reading and language. It is very important for your child to read at least 20 minutes every night in order for their comprehension and language skills to increase. Children who begin reading every day at an early age are much more likely to become readers for life. The students have several different ways to borrow books from school.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, and let's have a great year!!
