Mrs. Pertrina McIntosh

Greetings!

I am grateful to be in my ninth year of teaching at Raymond High School. Prior to this assignment, I taught middle school music for eleven years.

I am a high school graduate of B. L. Moor Attendance Center and also attended the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. Mississippi Valley State University is where I received my Bachelors of Art degree in Music. Then I journeyed further and received my Masters of Music Education degree in Music Education from Jackson State University. Recently I've added another milestone to this journey, earning a Specialist in Education degree in School Leadership and Administration from Belhaven University.

My thirst for knowledge drives me to continue to develop professionally by attending music conferences and collaborating with colleagues. I am a Caribbean Fulbright-Hayes Scholar. While there, I  studied and researched the culture and music of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guadeloupe. I've also completed missions in Honduras. What an AWESOME experience!

I have a passion for teaching and am committed to helping my students develop, embrace their musical gifts & talents, as well as become better citizens.

In my spare time, which is very little, I enjoy cooking, arts and crafts, sewing, hosting game nights, and travel abroad.
