Hi! My name is Mrs. Pickett.  I am excited about being your child’s 4th-grade science teacher.  We are going to have a great year!  

I have always loved working with children.  My husband and I have 3 of our own and 3 grandchildren.  My husband and I have worked for Christians in Actions as house parents.  We worked for SunnyBrook Children's Home early in our marriage as house parents as well.   During this time, we had a family, and I became a teacher.  

I have been in education for 20-plus years.   I received my education degree from Delta State University.  I have taught special education, 5th-grade English language arts, and 4th-grade science.  My teaching philosophy is that every student has the ability to learn.  I hope to find my students’ strengths to help them grow as a person.  

During my class period, my students will explore science through reading, technology, and experimentation.  We will incorporate many science-related reading passages and articles to increase reading skills.
