• The best way a student can prepare for the ACT is to take as many academically challenging classes as possible throughout high school and to study and do well in those classes.  However, many students choose to prepare for the ACT by attending workshops, reading study books and/or reviewing online versions of the assessment.  By engaging in these activities, students are able to familiarize themselves with the format of the ACT, practice pacing themselves on each section of the ACT, and review materials they may have learned several years ago.  Students also learn some "tricks" that may help them narrow down possible answer choices or figure out how to better allocate their time for more difficult questions.  Listed below you will find links to several workshops in the Jackson Metro area that students may want to attend in preparation for the ACT.  These links are not necessarily recommended or endorsed by Terry High School, rather they are provided for your information.  Please make sure to follow the link to find information about registration deadlines, cost, dates, and areas of focus to see if they will be a good fit for you!
