{Dr. Handley}
Stephen L. Handley became superintendent on July 1, 2006.
With thirty years of experience in education in Mississippi, Dr. Handley has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal on both the junior high and senior high school levels. Prior to becoming superintendent, he was the principal of Terry High School in the Hinds County School District.
Dr. Handley has received numerous recognitions and awards throughout his career, but is most proud of the fact that he was selected as the 2005 Mississippi Administrator of the Year.
Dr. Handley is married to Janece Handley and they have one child, Stephen II. They are also the proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
